Cyndi Celeste (she/they) is a celebrated Barbadian spoken word poet and writer, renowned for her dynamic blend of Bajan language and Caribbean storytelling, intertwined with influences from R&B, soul, jazz, and hip-hop. Emerging from the underground open mic scene of 2013 Barbados, her creative journey has led her to stages across the globe, from the US to South Africa, Paris, and Colombia. She has since become a four-time NIFCA award winner and the 2021 GineOn People’s Choice Poet of the Year.
Cyndi’s work merges performance with power and purpose. She has used her platform to co-ordinate community arts outreach projects and notably became 'de Republic Poet' after performing “We Ain’ Done” at Barbados’ Pride of Nationhood ceremony in 2021, celebrating the country's transition to a republic and the inauguration of its first president.
